IVE
IVE is a 6-member girl group (An Yujin, Gaeul, Rei, Jang Wonyoung, Liz, Leeseo) from Starship Entertainment that debuted on December 1st, 2021 with ”ELEVEN.”
One of the leading girl groups of the 4th generation of K-Pop, IVE has seen explosive success on the charts and with physical album sales with their discography. IVE is well-known for its unique brand of “girl crush,” focusing on “narcissism” or “self-love,” different from the usual “powerful” brand of girl crush formerly endorsed by other girl groups. Such a concept of self-love and positivity has been well-received by the gen Z of South Korea.
Compared to most of the other girl groups that had the “girl crush” concept, IVE’s music is sonically “brighter,” less hip-hop-influenced, and more reminiscent of the melodic dance pop of the late 2000s and early 2010s.
IVE’s most notable hits include “LOVE DIVE,” “After LIKE,” “Kitsch,” and “Baddie.”
